IUA: Gala Dinner for African Culture

Higher education is an important step in the lives of the young African leaders of tomorrow,
which requires a lot of sacrifices. This is why ceremonies are organized by different
institutions to celebrate the end of the academic year, congratulate the laureates and allow
students to fully enjoy the holidays.

In this perspective, the University Institute of Abidjan (IUA), organizes a gala dinner that will take place on the 30th
July 2022 around the theme “Afro-culture, African chic”. This initiative, rewarding for culture
afro is an innovation in the field because more and more universities are now choosing to
the occasion of events of this kind of themes related to foreign cultures.

This strong decision proves the students’ desire to reconnect with their culture, particularly in the
clothing field, in order to let express all the beauty, creativity and diversity of fashion
African.

Several renowned personalities will be present including some artists such as Didi B, Safarel
Obiang, Paulo Chakal and many others, all orchestrated by Jean Michel ONNIN as master of
ceremony.

The gala dinner will celebrate the founder’s vision, the exemplary work of the staff and the
members of the administration but also to celebrate the excellence of the Institute’s students
University of Abidjan who as an example won a few days ago the global Young
innovators organized by the United Nations and the University of Birmingham.

During this prestigious competition the students proposed a project on “producing bricks from the
recycling of wicks and plastic waste’. The IUA wins this global competition and becomes
the first African university to do so, being opposed to the final has American, English teams,
Chinese and Canadian.

To be African is to be part of the culture of the universal, and we must live and celebrate it continuously
